The Dance of Spring!

(Click on the picture to open it in YouTube, then open to a full screen to get the full impact of this beautiful video! Enjoy!)

This video was shown at the TED conference in 2011, with scenes from "Wings of Life", a film about the threat to essential pollinators that produce over a third of the food we eat. The seductive love dance between flowers and pollinators sustains the fabric of life and is the mystical keystone event where the animal and plant worlds intersect that make the world go round.

This upcoming film comes from director and cinematographer Louie Schwartzberg. Musical score provided by Bliss.

A New Addition to the Family!

Tazzy (for now...)

Well, we hope to soon have a kitty! Her name is Tazzy but we want to change that. Any suggestions? As I laid in bed awake last night from 1:00 am to 4:00 pm, I thought of Cleopatra (Cleo) or Tabitha.

She is 5 years old and a pure bred Blue Point Ragdoll who has been retired from breeding and is now looking for her forever home. Tomorrow she will be spayed, all shots updated and we can pick her up in about 3 weeks.

Wikipedia says...
"The Ragdoll is a cat breed with blue eyes and a distinct colorpoint coat. It is a large and muscular semi-longhair cat with a soft and silky coat.[1] Developed by controversial American breeder Ann Baker, it is best known for its docile and placid temperament and affectionate nature. The name "Ragdoll" is derived from the tendency of individuals from the original breeding stock to go limp and relaxed when picked up."

I am excited to have a pet again...one I hope will make up to all of us and be a loving pet. Nasser loves to pick the cat up and cuddle. Nazzi would never do that, or even let you pet her. We should be able to take this one back and forth with us to Florida. She is a strictly house-bound cat and has never been outside. Andy wants to teach to use the toilet instead of a litter box. It can be done...Google it!

Happy St Patty's Day!

"May you live as long as you want, and never want as long as you live."

I am planning on preparing Corned Beef in the slow cooker, with Colcannon (mashed potatoes and cabbage). For dessert, Chocolate and Mint Cheesecake Bars - something green!

We're all a little bit Irish on St. Patrick's Day!
